Ding, Dong, The Wicked Bitch is Gone
Think the song from The Wizard of Oz. News this morning announced that Carly Fiorina, former CEO of Hewlett Packard, was fired. Talk about rejoicing around our house and state for that matter. My husband currently works for HP and I did as well until I was layed-off due to company strategies created by this woman. He is also facing the same fate because this woman was so in favor of shipping all of the jobs overseas. We doubt this news will save his job, but we do have a sense of deep satisfaction knowing that this woman was FIRED. Apparently in the call center this morning when the news was announced, there were shouts of joy and much merriment to be had. Employees on my husband's level are taking great joy in the fact that the Former CEO, who essentially ran the company into the ground, got a taste of her own medicine. The fact that Carly was fired may not save the employees from getting layed-off, but they feel a whole lot better now that she is gone. Apparently so does the rest of the world... Stock in the company went up 7% today. hehehehe

Holy Shit
There is a certain fast food restaurant around the country that has completely blown my mind (and not in a good way). This place has a sandwich which consists of pastrami, hamburger patties (yes, more than one), cheese and a number of other things. You may have seen it advertised on TV. The thing that is just plain wrong about this sandwich is that is contains between 1300-1400 calories. It is a heart attack in a package. I find it a down right irresponsible health decision for both the people that make it and the people that consume it. Right now, that is more calories than I eat in a day. It's no wonder America is fat.

Ok, I am still alive
I started a new BFL Challenge today. It should be interesting since I cannot lift weights like I normally would due to the tear in one of the disks in my back (L5). I am doing physical therapy to recover and tried a little cardio today. I walked up and down my stairs for about 20 minutes. Doesn't sound like much, but I was happy to finally have the strength to do it. It beats the hell out of my usual as of late... laying around as per doctors orders. At least I will eat right and watch how many calories I consume. I don't need to give the fat an extra advantage. We will see what happens.

Ok, Everyone Say It, Shauntel's a Slacker
I have been neglecting this blog. I have been insanely busy and all of my extracuricular activites, including this blog, have been put on hold. Now that I am settling into a more normal schedule again, I should be able to post, and do other things like putting on my makeup everyday again.
So, Halloween is coming up. Any ideas for unusual costumes? We have a party to go to and I want to go as something no one else has done before. My best friend is going as the Statue of Liberty with a knife sticking out of her back that says "We hate the French." I find it amuzing and if anybody would like to know why, I will gladly post a link that explains the reasoning behind the costume. If you should happen to have an idea for my costume, please let me know. The more wild the better.

New Car
I got a new car! I got a new car!! I GOT A NEW CAR!!!! In case you couldn't tell, I am very excited. It is a 2005 Pontiac Vibe (insert dirty joke here). After months of test driving and playing around with finances, I am finally the proud owner of a baby-safe, sporty, new car. We have been looking for so long, and I never expected to get to get new...I thought we would end up getting something used. Imagine my suprise when my husband said "Let's go ahead and get the new one." I must say, I about fell over. I absolutely LOVE it. I will put up pictures later. Speaking of dirty jokes, should I get personalized plates that say R8TOR??? I think that would be hysterical. Yes, we are sick and twisted around my house.
